In this article we’re going to take a look at the best gold bullion dealers operating in the USA, focusing on those that sell physical bullion and ship this to your home, as well as those that are based entirely in the US, and not those that just ship to customers in this country. |

JM Bullion is one of the most popular bullion sites, and has also found its way into the bookmarks of many investors. This is because they offer a wealth of investing advice, with eBooks and scores of articles on the subject, as well as live charts. JM Bullion isn’t just about information though. It is also one of the easiest sites to navigate, it has one of the widest selections of gold, silver, platinum, palladium and copper, and it is also one of the cheapest. Add to this the fact that JM Bullion offers free shipping across the United States, and it’s easy to see why we rate this dealer so highly.
JM Bullion gets the basics right, and it also offers a few extras that you just won’t find anywhere else. These include products such as copper rounds and copper bars, as well as silver bullets and a great deal more. JM Bullion is not only one of the biggest bullion dealers in the US, but it is also the fastest growing and will soon become synonymous with quality, low-cost precious metals in this country.

We’re basing this rating on the SD Bullion site and service on the whole, but the truth is, if we focused only on gold, then the rating would be closer to 5/10. That’s because SD Bullion just don’t sell that much gold. They do have some bars and coins available and they also stock other precious metals, but it’s all about silver here, and that’s where they excel.
SD Bullion hasn’t been around for as long as some of the other names on this list, but they’re playing catch-up, and have already gained a substantial following in the bullion community. They are the leading source of low-cost silver coins, including everything from the RCM Maple Leaf to colored coins and limited edition coins.

Next to JM Bullion, Apmex are the biggest bullion dealer in the US. They used to get more respect and more custom than JM Bullion, but that is changing, and that change has been brought about by Apmex’s lack of reliability and speed. Simply put, their customer service is often slow and poor, and this leads to a lot of problems and a lot of frustration.
Apmex have a large quantity of bullion available, and they are just as good as JM Bullion when it comes to gold and silver. However, their options for other precious metals are limited to say the least. They also have a tendency to mark-up items. This probably has a lot to do with the fact that Apmex is the go-to bullion dealer for many investors, and there are thousands of customers who will not compare prices and will not look anywhere else, taking everything they see here on face value and letting Apmex get away with higher margins. That shouldn’t be the case for much longer though. Because as more people become wise to them, and as more begin to look elsewhere, Apmex will need to buck up their ideas if they want to continue as a leading authority in this industry.

Provident Metals has an awkward, clunky website, and one that is very difficult to navigate. There is a little too much going on, and they haven’t really found the right balance. There is a good variety of precious metals available here though, and they specialize in coins. There are limited edition coins that you just can’t find anywhere else, and that’s the main reason we use this site.
However, when it comes to standard bullion coins, there are cheaper options out there, and when it comes to bullion bars, there is nothing of note on Provident Metals. This dealer has its uses, especially for coin collectors that are constantly on the lookout for something unique, something different. But for most investors, it just isn’t good enough.
